About Us.

The task is enormous, with an estimated 153 million children fitting the description of "orphaned" throughout the world (Oxfam, UNICEF). Living Sacrifice Foundation (LSF) is currently focused on the “nation” of orphaned, abandoned and displaced children of Brazil.  These children are living on the streets, in public dumps and the shadows of every major city throughout the country. Estimates are 3-4  million children living like this in Brazil. This means that every day, several million little children are being subject to sexual exploitation, drug trafficking, abuse and murder. This cycle of violence needs to stop.

We believe we can help make a difference, one child at a time.

​Equipping future leaders to reach “every nation” with the gospel of Jesus Christ is our goal. With this goal in mind, LSF was developed to provide managerial and financial assistance in this work. Our first community involvement was in 1993. Since then, we have worked alongside like-minded individuals and organizations throughout Brazil, and now are active in four regions of the country to develop further this strategy as well as  learn from first hand success and challenges in order to develop young leaders throughout Brazil and the world. ​

Living Sacrifice Foundation does more than the development of well adjusted and well equipped leaders, we also provide a conduit for people inside North America to get involved in this work outside North America.

• Partnerships with organizations already doing this work for best practices
• Create a funding mechanism for both individuals and organizations
• Provide grants for individuals going or already working in this area
• Provide support and North American connection for workers and organizations in the developing world doing OAD work
• Support in the “calling” and “equipping” of individuals through short term team
• Provide Bibles and Educational materials to organizations and churches in the work of OAD leadership development

LSF is working primarily in Araguari & Uberlandia, MG serving the orphan and displaced community through partnerships with local churches and community leaders. A new and expanding  part of our focus (since December 2021) includes Venezuelan, Haitian and Afghan refugees who have made there way to this region of Brazil. Along with Brazil, LSF has developed partnerships in India (over 30 million orphaned children), Nepal and Mozambique. By providing educational materials, bibles and grant money, we are helping local leaders to  develop future generations to improve communities and change lives.

What Inspired Us.

​Living Sacrifice Foundation came together as we considered the overwhelming number of children throughout the world who are orphaned, abandoned and displaced every day through abuse, neglect, disease and violence. The Bible urges us in Romans 12 to live sacrificially and thereby "acceptable" lives before God. This is our inspiration, starting in Brazil and moving throughout the world, to identify, develop, and equip as many as we can, raising up leaders prepared to not only make a positive impact on their community, but those committed to the work of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe Jesus when he said, that the things we do for the very least in this world, we have done to Christ Himself, one child at a time.

To Identify, Develop & Equip leaders among orphaned, abandoned and displaced children of the world, to accomplish the "Great Commission" of Jesus Christ in Matt 28.

Director, President & co-Founder

Co-Founder of Living Sacrifice Foundation, Karl has been dedicated his life to orphan care and leadership development for more 30 years. He has successfully run and developed large and small business throughout the US. Karl has served on several local and international Boards, both non profit and community based.

Director, Treasurer & co-Founder

Co-Founder of Living Sacrifice Foundation, Vanderlene is a mother of 6 children, elementary school teacher, small business owner and has served the orphan community locally and internationally since 1991. Vanderlene has developed and implemented successful children's programs for over 30 years.

Todd Quam

Todd owns a successful company doing business throughout the United States. Todd has worked with those in need for decades, Whether "home building" in Mexico, serving the Native American community, ministry in China and Nepal or simply caring for neighbors, his heart is for those in need.
